December has long since knocked on the door, and for many, we find ourselves in the most beautiful month of the year. Advent has begun, the cities are decorated, and at every step, we smell the scent of holiday delicacies. Although December is known as the most beautiful month of the year, it can be very chaotic in many companies. For us all to relax a bit and bring the spirit of the holiday from the streets and houses into the offices, we bring you a few tips on how to decorate the office during the holidays. Thanks to the creativity and imagination that each of us has, we can play and decorate the workspace, while thinking about ecology. Let it be colorful and cheerful, but also environmentally conscious. One does not exclude the other.
Nature as inspiration
Mother nature is an inexhaustible source of motivation so, instead of driving, walk to your workplace. Look around and you will come across various cones, pine twigs, leaves, holly, and the like. With a little imagination and creativity, all this can be an inspiration for a real natural Advent wreath that you can place at the entrance, or as a table arrangement.
Paper ornaments and origami
This is one of the most affordable ways to make holiday decorations, and anyone can make them. Many videos are available today with which you can, step by step, make your unique paper decorations without mistakes. From simple snowflakes to origami – beautiful elements of all shapes and sizes are guaranteed. They can be used as a Christmas tree, window decorations, or hanging decorations.
Edible decorations
If circumstances permit, it is a good idea to make edible decorations. Make dry Christmas cookies that can stand for a few days and be sure to put them in a convenient bowl with a lid to prevent them from drying out. In addition to being edible, cookies in a variety of holiday shapes are a sweet decoration. This idea gets extra charm if you also have a waiting room for clients. Believe us, they will not remain indifferent.
Christmas tree as a real attraction
An indispensable part of every Christmas is the Christmas tree. Most companies usually have an artificial Christmas tree which employees then quickly decorate with classic balls. And so from year to year. Take it a step further this year and set aside a sum to buy a real Christmas tree. In addition to looking much nicer, the smell of green needles will accompany you throughout the working day. Also, real Christmas trees are far more sustainable and eco-friendly than artificial and plastic alternatives. Although we have real trees for a short period in the premises, there are several disposal options. One of them is to buy trees in a jar and then transplant them outdoors, and the other is just to accompany the planned communal removal of Christmas trees. It will end up in recycling and will be further recycled and diverted. Also, starting this year, it is possible to rent a real Christmas tree in some places in Croatia, which you return later, and it is then planted on plantations. Aside from making these solutions eco-friendly, we believe no one will remain indifferent to the right tree as soon as they step into your organization. Once you get the right tree, organize the decorating together with the employees as a team-building activity. Make tea, bring Christmas cookies and make balls together from paper, origami technique, or natural materials you found on the way to work. We believe that activities of this kind will remain in everyone’s memory and will bring a smile to the daily passage to the work units.
Christmas is the most beautiful time of the year, and since too much is produced and spent every year on plastic ornaments and decorations that usually end up in the trash after the New Year, always look back and consider whether you can reuse something before throwing it in the trash. Ask yourself what Christmas is? Are they expensive decorations, a lot of food to throw away, or is it a time of forgiveness, a time of smiles, and a time we spend with our loved ones? Therefore, do not bother with decorations that everyone will envy you, but let that time serve you to be thankful for what you have.
